THE PROJECT

Rochester Institute of Technology, commonly known as RIT, has also been know as “Brick City” for its abundant use of the same colored brick on almost all of their 238 buildings. RIT may be trading in the RIT Blend of bricks for more contemporary panels and materials. The new MAGIC Spell project is RIT’s latest project to attract the students for the booming video game industry. SWBR Architects designed a terracotta facade with a pattern that harkens back to the pixelated appearance of early computer monitors. The RIT facility department should enjoy the maintenance-free exterior of terracotta supplied by Terreal Terracotta of France.
